logan:

In a failed attempt, the raven-haired male had wish to place a delicate kiss upon the back of her hand as any gentleman should — if you’d consider Logan one at all.

I uh…hm… What had he been doing here exactly? He had been within the confinements of every building held on this block. It was a rather minute town, so he figured he’d explore.

He would have answered her first question had it not been disregarded. What is it you recommend?

She noticed that he had been about to answer her initial question, but didn’t pursue the topic further. His question, this time, sufficiently distracted her. This cafe was a place that she often frequented, but…

'Eh, I don’t know. Are you sure you want my opinion?’

It was second nature for her to hesitate whenever someone asked for her views on something. Kind of stupid, but she couldn’t help herself every time. Aside from doing so often made her uncomfortable, there was always this feeling in the pit of her stomach; the fear that her opinion would be dismissed as ridiculous.

I knew I wouldn’t regret my choice, he thought, as he placed a hand over his abdomen due to the pain of his laughter. It was simple to make him laugh really, though it was a rarity to witness him in such a fit of bliss.

For reasons only known to him, he continued to chuckle at proclaimed amusement.

As if he had never began laughing the male cleared his throat and straightened his demeanor and her soft spoken words.

Helena, he rolled of his Irish tongue. A pleasure. Name’s Logan. Just as he offered his name, he extended an extremity across the table in hopes for a proper shake.

Laughter always affected her, and the sound of his seemed to help ease her nervousness, if only a little. She waited for him to finish, lips twitching into a more genuine smile as she attempted to repress her own giggles.

Before she could change her mind, she took his hand with hers and gently shook it before letting go as soon as possible. Warmth radiated from her cheeks again; skin contact, especially with strangers, always made her feel embarrassed, for some reason. It was why she was so wary about it.

In an attempt to both distract herself and initiate a proper conversation, ‘So, um, what are you doing around here?’ Wasn’t that obvious? 'Wait, no. I meant, do you want to order something?’ Inward face palm. Smooth. Very smooth.

???:

Upon direction, the male followed the pointed phalange and took his seat across from her before folding his hands politely atop the desk. Uncomfortable seating really, but I’m sure the time he would spend chatting would make it worth his while.

As emerald optics left the graceful hands of his own, they found a once porcelain colored female had now been prompted to a shade of red. At the sight, he had known to be the source of her presumed embarrassment

A light, almost inaudible, chuckle escaped moistened tiers, and a hand lifted to catch his laughter.

Pardon me, I’m not laughing at you. Near you, rather.

     'Oh, um, it’s okay.’

Lo and behold! Red skin turned even redder, if that was even possible. A quick glance was stolen at the male sitting across her before flickering back towards fingers laced with one another. His laugh creates a thought in her head; disregarding her shortness, she was old enough to be mistaken as a senior, or even a college freshman. To the other customers of the cafe, they probably looked like a couple.

Color then proceeds to drain out of her face, leaving her paler than ever. While a fan of romance novels, she found the real thing rather distasteful. Lips muttered a quick prayer that none of her classmates would pass by this area and see them and assume the wrong thing.

Deep breaths, deep breaths. Once she considered herself to be adequately composed, she met his eyes and tried for a calm smile. ‘I’m Helina.’
