Plot # 42: Ghost (concept submitted by:charlesworthy-iii)

In the prime of their life, Muse A perishes in a tragic car accident. Shortly after, Muse B, who is in desperate need of an organ transplant, gets the call that they’re next on the list for donation. Muse A was an organ donor and because Muse A and Muse B were a perfect match, Muse B becomes a recipient of the vital organ from the recently departed Muse A. The transplant surgery goes well, however there are unforeseen side effects. While in the hospital, Muse B begins to see flashes in the corner of their eye of a person they’ve never seen before, Muse A. At first, Muse B dismisses the creepy sightings, assuming it has something to do with the medications they’re on. Once Muse B’s allowed to go home, the sightings become more frequent and Muse A’s non-corporeal form becomes more vivid. Muse B experiences the shock of their life when Muse A actually begins to speak to them one day, suggesting that they’re now connected somehow because of the transplant. Muse A may be dead, but they’re still hanging around and only Muse B can see them. Muse B is stuck with Muse A’s spirit at their side, and they have to learn how to live together for an indefinite future.

Optional:

  • Muse A cannot leave a certain distance from Muse B.
  • Muse A can hear Muse B’s thoughts.

     ’You mean musical ones, right?
Um.. I don’t really have favorite
artists. I’m all about the songs
and I usually find them when I
      look for fanmixes and playlists
      for my favorite ships.
But I do have a lot of songs by
           Florence and The Machine,
           Marina and The Diamonds, and
           Panic! At The Disco.
I hope that’s all right and stuff.’

kazuki:

Finally managing to calm down, he nodded towards the girl in acknowledgement, a faint smile still on his lips. “It’s nice to meet you, Helina. I’m Kazuki.”

Eyes dropped down to the pack of Skittles still clutched in one hand and he grinned as he turned back to the female. “Thanks again for these, by the way.” His gaze immediately took notice of the small, now-empty cardboard box on the shelf in front of the other where the Skittles should have been.

Turning back to look at her, he smiled and added, “But I’d feel bad if you just freely gave this to me, seeing as it’s the last one. I’ll get you something in return. I’ll even pay for it.” Some people might think that he was going a bit too far by offering to pay for whatever the girl was going to buy, but to Kazuki, giving someone you had just met the last packet of candy in the store was already more than enough reason for him to do this for her. Besides, she had just saved him the trouble of deciding which treat he should get.

'Nice to meet you, too. I guess. And you kind of deserve them.’ She followed his line of sight to the Skittles in his grasp and was wondering where this was going, when his next statement made her abruptly snap her head back up. Eyes widened, eyebrows raised, she stared at him with something akin to surprise and disbelief. She had just called him ‘bitch,’ after all, disregarding the fact that it was an accidental occurrence.

And aside from that—well, it wasn’t like she disliked people buying things for her. Quite the opposite, really. She was the type to ask her friends to buy food for her, often with a wide smile and her best attempt at puppy dog eyes. But she was more shy when it came to strangers.

'There’s really no need!’ It was far too kind. She had just mistaken this boy as one of her friends and called him a derogatory term, which was a good enough reason to give him her food. But for him to treat her to something?

???:

Brown hues slightly widen at the stranger’s words as the teen frantically looks at the table, and low and behold, there is no more food on the table before her. She had only agreed to attend this school event, a school which she has never heard of and doesn’t attend, because her mother explained that there would be a couple of booths which serve food, such as pastries. The reason to which the evil witch wants her to leave the safety of her locked room filled with various electronics and junk food was to make some friends. The brunette is sure that she’s been doing just fine without any friends, people who will most likely take advantage of her in the end.

“I see…”, she mumbles to herself. Looking the at the other, then at the table which taunts her, she sighs loudly. “A—alright, do you know when more food will be at the table?”

The way the potential customer looks at the table is, she finds, a source of amusement. Obviously, this girl is craving something to eat. Too bad; her instincts are telling her that both of them will have to wait for the arrival of her classmates. Knowing them, they are going to get sidetracked by a stray cat or something, and take forever to get back as a result. See, this is why she should have been allowed to come with them. It’s common knowledge to people who have hung out with her enough that she can be quite relentless and scary, especially when it comes to things that might get her in trouble.

‘Uh.’ A very intelligent answer. Oh, well. She has never been known as articulate, especially when it comes to spoken words. 'Honestly? Probably a while.’

Clearly, selling things and entertaining customers isn’t and will never be her forte. You’re probably supposed to lie and say, 'Oh, soon!’ or something in a disgustingly perky way. Whatever. Does she look like she cares?

—Humans… It must be horrible to have to deal with such trivial things.

A small smile formed on her lips. She found this conversation and this being to be quite amusing, to say the least. People were so sensitive. No wonder they were all so weak

But she had to play along. At least for now.

“Well, no. I suppose not. But why fear death if it’s bound to happen at some point?”

image

█▓▒░ —— ✎

'I think part of why so many people fear death is because it’s inevitable,’ she replied with another one of her shrugs. There was an endless supply of them.

What she had said, though, was honest. No one who was happy, who was content with their life, wanted death. There were people who didn’t fear it, not necessarily, but no one wanted it. And some of those who said that they wanted to die didn’t truly mean it.

She should know. She had pressed a razor to her wrist once. Had said it. Had almost done it.

     A l m o s t .

Turns out she hadn’t meant it. Not really.
